End the Week on High Note With Virtual Happy Hour

Everyone is doing their part to flatten the curve, but social distancing doesn’t mean we can’t be social. As we are physically distancing ourselves, it is even more important to maintain social connections with friends and family. Thanks to technology, virtual happy hours and karaoke clubs are popping up all over the place. They are super easy to organize, practically free, and there is no cover charge. Bar Quarantine Never Closes.

Tips for Hosting Your Own Virtual Happy Hour

#1. Set the Date

Agree on a time and place to meet. Lots of apps and websites are offering free access right now.

Zoom: Free for 40 minutes but the paid version keeps the party going all night

AnyMeeting: Free for up to 4 people

Skype: Free for up to 10 people

Facetime Group Calls: Free

#2. Make your Guest List

Keep it small to keep the conversation going. The bigger the group, the crazier it gets to mediate the conversation.

#3 Choose the Eats and Drinks

Get out the quarantine snacks (if you haven’t eaten them all already). Another option is to pick a local restaurant or bar to support that offers delivery or carry out.

Check your town or city laws. Some places across the country are now allowed to sell mixed drinks to-go as long as you order food or search for some quarantine cocktail inspiration online.

#4 Send an Invite

Set the time and include the link to the platform you are using. Many of the have an access code your guest will need to join the party.

#5 Find the Perfect Spot

Pick a place in your home or if the weather calls for it, enjoy the open-air seating on the back porch.

#6 Conversation Starters

Some groups will have no problem taking the bar chat virtual. But keep the discussion positive and save the negativity for the news. And for all of you karaoke stars out there, don't let the coronavirus keep you down.

SingSnap Karaoke has thousands of songs for free to choose from or you can do it the redneck way and look them up on Youtube.
